Default Primos hunting videos and shows

I have to say their videos and show on the Outdoor channel shows as much respect to there downed game as Slick Willie did to Monicas dress. Their behaviour after shooting an animal is inexcusable...everyone laughing and piling on each other and rolling around on the ground acting like a bunch of 5 year olds. What a bunch of a##holes. This is just more ammunition for the anti-hunters out there and really casts hunting in a poor light.

I haven't seen thier show on the outdoor channel but I have one of thier videos called the truth 5. Its all elk hunting with a bow and I didn't see anything offensive at all. Which videos are you referring to and when does thier show come on the outdoor channel? I've always liked Primos but I can't make a judgement till I see the shows you are talking about.

If I ever lose that kind of feeling and excitement after putting a good shot on an animal and watch him go down, I will quit hunting. That is why they call it the TRUTH about hunting, that is their true feelings. Ammunition for the anti's? I don't think so. What are we supposed to do, cater to them and hide our true feelings? These shows are broadcast on subscription channels, if people are offended by what they see, they don't have to subscribe or buy the videos, just like they don't have to subscribe to Playboy because they don't like porn.

Now, if they just fired 10 rounds at a running away elk from 400 yards, I would have issues with that, but I am not the least offended or upset by that show.

Irregardless of what you say Artic I think the show is in extremely poor taste. Yes one should be exuberant when they sucessfully hunt and quickly end an animals life but the rest of their little act in their "Truth" video is bull****. Liken it to the wide reciever that walks across the goal line and performs his dance after beating a cornerback instead of the guy that just runs across the goal line and hands the ball back to the referee. If you even watched more than one of their videos this is a constant thing with them(Primos) and they show little or no respect for the animal they just killed.

Again I haven't seen the video. But when I was 14 years my dad had just bought me my first rifle, a 30-30 with open sights. I shot a deer at 200 yds while it was running, everyone else in the group missed him and it was my first deer and I knew he was big. He ended up being a 28" 4X5 muley that hangs on my wall today. After I shot he dropped like a stone but I could see his legs flopping around a bit but by the way he went down and his movements after I knew he was not getting back up. I yelled and screamed like I was 5 years old and that deer still had a few more seconds of fight in him. Looking back I don't think there was anything wrong at all with it. You're entitled to your opinion but based on your post I think they didn't do anything unethical or in poor taste at all, if don't get excited when you are successful then you shouldn't be out hunting, it certainly isn't for the faint at heart. I know if I just shot a trophy class bull (which I never have) I wouldn't stop hoopin and hollerin for a week.

The real ethics lies in cleanly taking the animal, thats the ultimate respect for the game you're hunting. To spend the time to practice and practice your aim and the money for the best equipment you can afford to take it cleanly.

Good analogy with the football remark oldelkhunter, different people, different tastes. I remember them debating on the college football endzone dance, and finally started penalizing the team if it was done. This is because too many people felt it showed poor sportsmanship and disrespect to the other team.

Both a hunter and a football player feel a great sense of accomplishment when they either successfully take an animal or score a touchdown. I'm not one to take any kind of expression, emotion or feeling away from somebody that has just accomplished a great feat. Just like fighting in pro hockey, I think the endzone dance is a part of football. I never looked at it when the other team would shuffle and shimey in the endzone as a badgering, but more as a privelidge for the feat, even when I was on the opposite end of that equation.

As Primos continues to make videos, the hunter as the bowhunter or rifle or muzzleloader on camera must respect the game they kill period. Its a matter of live or death in mother natures world in the woods. We the people whom take game for food or by what ever means to havest game MUST respect the animals they kill ,hollywood or not!Ive seen where a elk gets blasted by a 300 mag. elk was bewilderd ,& was still standing ,with a damaged shoulder hit, the hunter stood up ,faced the camera & started laughing !! laughing... what the heck! <img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>put the poor animal out !!!!

Your worng about not paying repsect to the animals if you watch the truth 5 which was already mentionee Will Primos talks about giving thanks to the animals and to God for giving them to us. Show your true feelings after taking an animal is not a band thing. I did it this year when I shto my first elk, god forbid there was an &quot;anti&quot; in the bushes watching me!!!! If that all that you can bicker about you need to get out more!!!
