I actually kind of like having it on tohelpkeep me from banging the end of the barrel around in the truck, etc. (if that makes any sense) 
I thought that was the reason for it,I bought one also and tried it,I really didn't see the improvement in groups and I moved up and down the barrel after 3 shot grps and not enough improvementto buy another one.
