How many of you hunt after Black powder season and how sucesfull are you ?
Can you bow hunt during Black powder season and do any good ?
I hunt around Yampa Co. have any of you bow huntedduring Black powder season there?

RE: For Elk Bow Hunter Vetrens ?
Can't speak for hunting CO, but in ID we have bear season & a cow elk unlimited short range weapon, (shotgun or muzzleloader) going on for a good part of Sept. I don't see it affecting the elk or our hunts much at all.
I find that most these guys don't venture very far from the roads, less than a good mile!! So from this end I wouldn't let in sway my decision from a particular time frame to hunt. Stay away from the the people magnets, roads & trails that is & you'll do fine. You get out of it what you put into it!!!------------Good Luck / ElkNut1
