No more messing around with puny guns....
Decided deer calibers weren't enough to be legitimate elk killers. Acquired a .338 RUM. Loved it! But now crave more power. (Elkampmaster is somewhere out there grinning!)
Going .50 cal!!! Muzzleloader to be exact!
My camp mates have all purchased T/C encores and we are ready! Well, actually we haven't finished putting them all together and we know nothing about muzzleloaders other than they give us another excuse to purchase things that go BOOM!!! In this case, gives us another season to possibly trek to the Rockies!!! I see there is a muzz forum on this site so will be checking it out. Right now I just want to try out the .223 barrel I have for the Encore. At least until we figure out which end the powder goes, what you could possibly do with something called "bore butter" and what exactly is a "possible" and why do I need a bag for it???
Stay tuned.........looks to be a rodeo waiting to happen!!!

Great choice!! I have the Remington 700 Inline .50 cal and it will knock large stumps over like a bowling ball..I have yet to shoot a deer with it butcould imagine what it will do. Go to shootersforum.com for blackpowder

Bore Butter is a lube commonly used on patches for round balls and as a lube on bore diameter conicals. It can also be used to lube a gun after cleaning.
A "possibles" pouch is something that has all the possibles you may need during a hunt. This will carry extra bullets, powder, primers, a decapper, and so on.
Good luck, and have fun with your new "toy"
