Missouri Firearm season opens this weekend
It seems rather anti-climatic after chasing elk in the rockies. Got camp all set up and ready to go. The best part is the comradery anyhow. I haven't seen any big deer while bow hunting but the rut is getting fired up and that can change things in a hurry.Wish us luck.

Well,
Even with the lack of well wishers we done ok. [8D] I killed a nice 4 x 4 whitey opening morning about 7am, and my step son killed a respectable 5x6sunday evening at sunset. All in all it was a great weekend of camping and hunting. Best part is tagging out 1 hour into the hunt so you can sleep in and watch the camp fire. Sitting in a comfortable chair is easier on my legs.

Congrats on the deer.
My dad and his buddies hunt in your area of the country also. They hunt just outside of Warsaw near Truman Reservoir. They hunt on private land next to the corps of engineers' land. They have had a good hunt this year too. Tagged some nice bucks and some does. Just like you, they love getting together with friends just as much as getting a deer.
My dad and I are headed out to NM in a couple of weeks for a late season elk hunt. The guide says there are a bunch of elk on his land right now and if they get some snow between now and then there will be even more. We can't wait!
