Default RE: Elk Rut Timing

Between 6:35 and 6:40 PM my wife and I heard 260 bugles from 70 antlered bulls (scoring between 280 and 400). It was 50 degrees, there was a partly cloudy sky, with a SW wind at 14 mph. It looks like there is going to be a second bugling peak during the week of October 12 here in Minnesota, just like last year. But, I won't know for sure until I get done with this year's study. This second bugling peak occurs when the cows come into estrus a sceond time.
