bonus points
I have never hunted a state other than my own and after seeing people talking about bonus points on here i've always wondered what they are. Something to do with getting drawn in another state i can tell, but can someone explain them to me please.

RE: bonus points
Bonus points are used in states or specific hunting areas that have a higher demand of hunters wanting to hunt the area than the game population can withstand or they are used in trophy management areas to allow the game animals to live longer and grow to trophy size. For instance, if you want to hunt a certain area and you apply and get turned down you will get 1 bonus point. Every time you get turned down you will recieve a bonus point. Some states allow you to apply for just a bonus point to accumulate the needed number to get drawn in a certain area. Some highly sought after areas may require 10-15 bonus points to have a decent chance of getting drawn. That is 10-15 years of applying! Hope this helps.
