Default RE: Official team 19 hang out...

Got in the stand at 4:30 and had 2 does go flying by at 4:50. Got quiet then......and stayed quiet for a long time. At 6:15, the dogs across the road started barking and I glassed across the road. There were another 6 does standing on the other side for a minute and then sprinted into the field in front of me at 120 yards out. They started grazing and it got quiet again....At 6:45 the dogs started barking again and once again I glassed across the road. There were 3 bucks standing there looking my way. One of the smaller ones took a couple steps toward the road just when another neighbor started up his dirt bike that has no exhaust on it. Flags went up on the deer. The neighbor started down the road towards me and the 3 bucks bolted back into the woods on the other side. He flew down the road and soon his loud bike was just a faint noise again. Five minutes later I hear the bike coming back my way still a mile or two down the road. Dogs start barking, I look bucks and does approaching the road. With the roar of the motorcycle getting closer, they stood there until it was quite loud and bolted back into the woods again. Didn't see any more deer come across. The one's in the field on my side of the road where still there and were between me and my way home. I stood at the edge of the field for a few minutes and they weren't making any progress getting out of my way. I reached into my safety vest pocket and pulled out my buck call. I did a loud grunt wheeze and the does left the field and crossed the road. I made my way through the hay field and when I got back to the ATV, I was missing an arrow. I'll look for it tomorrow. Also tomorrow, I am hunting the other side of the road.

What's this road you speak of, a dirt road going down through the woods, a hard surface road for vehical traffic?

Shouldn't you be spending time with your new son instead of harassing others?

Coop, while I was reading that, I was like..."He needs to be hunting the other side of the road." But alas.......you're already on it. I thought road hunting was illegal though???

Well, I'm headed out this evening. I'll be back Sunday evening. This farm is in southern MO and has a lot of deer on it. We've got some clover and winter wheat planted, and we always see a ton of does. We see quite a few bucks as well, but never before the last week of October. And, it's gonna be God aweful hot again this weekend, temps in the mid 80's......So, I don't have much hope for a buck this weekend....But I'm still gonna hunt hard and smart.....Cause ya just never know.

Knowing my luck, if it's me that lays one down, it'll probably get back up again!

Now Now,,,dont say that lol...my dad had that happen a few years back, he thought the buck was down for good walked up to it and it got back up and took off. so he ended up sneaking up onhim and he put another arrow in him to finish him off.
