wi, don't beat yourself up man. You missed because you are destined to get a bigger one! And even if you don't....oh well. I know it hurts though, I've been there. Keep at it man....

I tried to go saturday evening...but.........I couldn't get to my stand. Flooded. Which is wierd....this is just a small irrigation ditch (by ditch, read depression) that holds water.....All the rivers and creeks dropped dramatically over the week, except this damn ditch. It came up, dramatically. LOL.......So, w/out the aid of a canoe......I couldn't get there. Just as well, summer has decided to show back up anyway.

Don't think it is going to get me down. I know I am capable of making that shot. I just didn't remain calm. Once I get that taken care of I will do fine. I can wack the does and turkeys no problem. Just have to realize the bucks are just bigger targets and REMAIN CALM. I do like your "destined to get a bigger one" attitude. I will do all I can to make that happen.

That sucks. Things are sure to slow down on here now. We had one of the busier threads on here. I hope he gets back up soon because I will be heading off on vacation with my wife starting Thursday and won't be back on here to talk any hunting until October 6th. Gonna be hard to handle but I think I can do it. She puts up with a lot from me this time of year so I think I can give her this. It will be the first time either of us have been out east (VT, NH, ME, MA, NY and maybe even into Canada). Hope we have some good fall colors to enjoy. We have a COG railroad up Mount Washington planned and a hot air balloon ride. Both are also a first for us.

Well keep us posted there MO if you hear anything else.

Thanks Rick. I really am not letting it bother me. I didn't even touch him so I know he is not out there wounded. That really makes it all good with me. Long season and I will get more chances. I do appreciate all of your support.

Mo I will enjoy. Fly into Boston on Thursday night and my wife has never been on a brewery tour. So before we head out of Boston we are going over to the Sam Adams brewery. This whole thing works great for me because I get this vacation and then when Matt gets home I get another almost 2 weeks that I will take.

Hey, do any of you own, or know somebody that owns, a 4 door Chevy Colorado w/ the 4 cylinder motor in it? I'm going to be buying a new truck early December, and this truck appeals to me. First, it's a crew cab so I can haul my family around when necessary, and I'm going to put a topper on it to lock all of my hunting gear.....

80% of the miles I put on my truck are commuting to work, so I need something that gets decent mileage. Anybody know what I can expect from that?

A chevy.[:'(] Just picking. No idea here. I have the Ford F-150 and I can get about 21 on highway with it. Not great in town though. I do know the Ford Sport Trac is a pretty decent small truck with 4 doors. They are still heavy so I don't think the milage is as good but I do think they are safer. I always look at the safety rating when purchasing. If you know anyone with a consumer reports you can check out that pretty easy. I don't put much faith in what they say about them other than safety because they just don't like anything American made.
