Well I did manage to get out of work a little early yesterday and slip into the woods. I didn't get in the tree until 5:00 but I was quiet in hopes that I wouldn't jump anything. I didn't get in the tree I wanted to b/c one of the other guys that has permission to hunt the area was already in his tree. I would have to walk right by him to get in the stand I wanted to so I decided to sneak around the back side and get in another stand. I wasn't in the tree 5 minutes when I had two come in to me. One doe and one button buck. The just farted around in front of me for about 20 minutes. The button buck actually walked under my lock on and was licking the tree!! I couldn't even see him because of the platform of the stand. When I leaned over, he was licking the tree and playing with the rope I just used to pull my bow up not 5 minutes earlier![&:] There were other deer around but i'm not sure what they were. This was good to see b/c I haven't had much activity in this spot for a couple of weeks. They have finally started to come back in so hopefully the boss man will cut us loose early today and I can get back in the tree! Whack em and Track em!!!

Hey fellas. I almost connected on a nice 8 Wednesday afternoon. He just didn't give me the shot I wanted. I'm headed to my farm in SC today. Nobody hunts it except for me a few times a year. I know there's a big boy down there and hopefully he'll show himself in the next couple of days. Good luck fellas and Happy Thanksgiving!

No luck in SC. On Saturday afternoon I was hunting on my uncle's neighbor's land. I did manage to grunt in a very nice 6 pt. He came out of the bottom ready to whoop some ass. Unfortunately he didn't come across the field, he stayed about 90 yards away. He had all his hair standing up! He was obviously pissed off!! It was neat to see and I would have given him the shaft but he didn't cooperate. I'm heading to Illinois on Thursday. Before you get your hopes up...my buddy does have almost 400 acres but he was unable to get me a tag, gun or bow! This weekend is muzzleloader weekend up there so I'llbe the cameraman for him. He missed a 180" and a 200" last week. Hopefully I'll be able to get some good pics for ya'll. I better get some work done now.
