[blockquote]Well I just got back and I was 1 step away from smoking 130 + deer. He came in from the same spot I shot mine from last year.He walked right at me and got within 5 yards and I still didn't have a shot. I had to let down and he busted me. I got him to stop at 45 yards but no shot then he just walked away. [/blockquote][/blockquote]This is him

SDH-Great looking bull. I'd love to hunt elk someday. Great looking trail cam pics too.

130-sounds like your inching closer to that buck, good luck on getting him.

I've passed on a couple 2 1/2 year old eight points this week here in PA but no size to them tho. One of them was grunting up a storm and chasing does around so its starting to pick up here.

I leave tomorrow for my 2 week trip to Kansas so I'm hoping the rut is picking up there as well. As long as the weather holds out there I should have a good chance to put some points on the board for us. Keep your fingers crossed.

Good luckall and congrats to everyone who's taken an animal so far. (Bucks, does and elk too).

I seen 2 bucks yeaterday morning and a doe in the afternoon. My buddy shot a 10 point this morning his first with a bow. It was a 115 inch not bad for a first buck. It is starting to go here just have to find one. I post pics later. Off to the stand.

Sounds like you guys are all over 'em. I'm sure it won't be long before we get on the board again.

Last night at 6 p.m., I passed on the biggest buck I've ever passed up.

We hunted all day, nobody saw a deer. Finally last night, I broke the ice with a beauty of a 4x5.Probably 105-115", maybe 16" outside, 4-5" brows, 7"ish G2's & G3's, and a 1.5-2" G4 on the left. Nice mass, not huge, but at least average. If deer have nine lives, he was down to about 1 or 2 by the time he finally left.

In PA that's a shooter buck without a moment's hesitation. I just wasn't ready to burn my Ohio NRtag on the firsthunt.

I was really second-guessing myself until right at dark, whena really big buck crossed the creek bed below. I couldn'treallyestimatehis score, just know that he was a definite shooter.

Things have been picking up for me…. I had a 2 ½ year old 4x4 under 10 yards on Sat AM and then a 1 ½ year old 3x4 also under 10 yards on Sunday…. I kicked up a real nice mature buck tonight about 15 yards from my stand. He was directly downwind of my mock scrape – wonder if he camped trying to catch the ‘intruder’? I was about half way up my ladder when he busted out. He was so close I almost fell off my stand! Not exactly how I like to see a mature buck though – chasing him out from his bed right next to one of my prime stands – guess that’s one of the risks heading out to hunt in the afternoon/evening….

SD that's a little rough jumping a mature buck right by your stand.

Gobbler Hang in there sounds like your about to score.

Quick Pull a monster out OH that would rock.

Here is my buddies 10 aas for me last night I saw 2 small 8's and a fork chasing a doe. Nothing mature I will be at work until Thursday then back to the woods.
