My brother will have one of my best spots screwed up before any good action starts. He won't listen to me.He was back in an area I told him to stay away from.I told him it was a bedding area where the bucks would using. He walked into it yesterday and jumped the bucks out of their beds.He was happy about it.He got to see a shooter buck as it ran away from him. What a moron ! I wonder why he has only killed one buck with a bow,and only two bucks in his life that wouldbreak 120 inches. Not everyone gets wiser as the get older. He's 52.Sorry for venting guys.
My brother is like that too. He won't listen at all. He hunts on the ground and smokes. Then he wonders why he never sees deer. The one's he is lucky enough to get a shot at , he ALWAYS misses. He has to hunt w/ a X-Bow and only shoots it a couple times prior to the season. It's the same story every year. He's always telling me there are no deer where he can hunt. Geeezzz!!! I'm glad he lives 60 miles away.

You ain't just kidding.
I can tell how proud you are of your buck. And thanks again for getting us on the board.
Stay in the woods and watch what goes on for next year. Rub lines, scrape areas , bedding areas and travel routes. Find new spots you haven't been to around your hunting area. File the info away for next year.

Whats up fellas, been in the woods most of the week, been seeing two bucks, not the biggest ones on the block but would put meat in the freezer. I would like to say I will pass untill a shooter comes in but I will be needing some meat this year. I would rather take a 6 point and let the does walk... we will see.

Good luck guys.

I know you guys are not much into geese, but I landed some hunting property today that had a couple hundred geese in the field... sounds like I may be able to hit that in Jan.

Anyone want to shoot some does.I saw 13 does last night.Thats just a fraction of the does on this property.I only saw one buck and he was a button.I did have three does come on a run.You new they were being chased, but he never showed. They did give me some great shots at 5 yards.I start vacation on Monday thru the 14th.Surely one shooter buck will step in front of my trykon.

I'll shoot a doe. Gotta' fill the freezer before my wife starts to think I'm not in the woods and doing something else. LOL !!!

I was out in the wind tonight. Gusts to 35mph. Will this weather ever cooperate for me??
I got in a deep hollow to try to stay out of the gusts, but still got hit some. No deer at all moving tonight. At least where I was. I am seeing some rutting sign. Rubs are starting to pop up. I've seen some good ones on the edges of cover.
The deer have changed their patterns because the acorns are dried up. I'm not sure what they're feeding on. There are some grapes here and there, but it doesn't look like the deer are hitting them. Must be strictly browsing.
Any good bucks sighted?

Had a shot at a nice 8 point Fri. Took the shot and hit a good size twig on the way..... shot went right over him at a little over 20 yards....... I can say that 3d leefy camo seems to work real well. He had me made and gave up when I did not move and walked away. Maybe he was just not as smart as an adverage buck..

Thats what kept me from hunting yesterday morning. I was planning on heading behind my house to hunt some doe, or maybe even have a turkey come by, but the wind and rain convinced me that Id have the same luck if I just stayed in bed. The weather seems to be clearing up though and the temperatures have drastically dropped. Deer should deffinatly be ruttin this week.
