I going to try kishel's scents this year. I've had some guys tell me the Buck Thrasher I and II is good stuff.
I've used Kirschner's Silvertop II with some success but the stuff goes bad pretty quick. It gets an amonia smell.
What scent's or lures do you guys use??

I had never bought into all those scents and lures. But I had a gift card for D1cks Sporting goods and decided to pick some up and give it a try. I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. I didn't have any luck the firstcouple times I used it, but that was due to the fact that I was in an area that I had neverhunted (decided to try some new areas).
Then I used it in an area that I frequently saw deer, and knew that there were some bucks around. Im sure you remember me saying about having a 120-130" buck right infront of me, that ducked from my arrow at 30 yards? Im not sure if i mentioned that I had placed Tinks out that day. Now I dont leave the house without that stuff, that is, after I have seen the bucks chasing does.

I'm not a scent user myself.I have played with a few over the years.I have never had any luck with tink's 69.I've tried a few of the james valley jells with no luck.I did have one brand I had some luck with one full season. It kept there attention off of me so I could get the shot.I arrowed nine deer that year.I was using the buck fever brand.
I have seen reactions from a couple of other scents. All were on youger bucks. It was the H.S. scents call lure.

Three years ago I got a 10pt that followed a drag rag of Silver Top II right to me. That's the only time I've had any luck w/ scents.
I'm going out in the morning for the opener. I won't be able to sleep I know. Tomorrow is doe day. Here in the confines of Treasure Lake we descided you have to shoot a doe before a buck.
But the bucks here are huge. Treasure Lake has never allowed hunting in over 30 years. This is the 2nd year. I've got my eye on a couple nice 140 class bucks....I hope I didn't jinks myself.
Let's do it PA boys...let's get it started.

I'm going out in awhile, but I'm not shooting unless it's a good buck.It is just too warm out and I won't have time to process one.I'll set up more as an observation stand.

Well,I lied.A coworker ask me to shoot him a young doe,so I sat up at my 2nd food plot.I had a dozen does or more around me from 4 pm. on.Right before dark I finnally drilled one.She dropped in sight and the other deer never reacted to the shot untill she dropped and rolled over.

Opening day prooved to be a good one. I didn't score the doe I wanted , but had 6 deer , come in. The only 2 that were close enough to shoot were a 6 pt. and a spike. It was like the doe's knew I was after them.
The weather was perfect and it was great to be in a tree again.
I'll hope to hunt in the morning, since I don't go to work till 12:00 tomorrow.
How's everyone else doin' ???

Well my first morning went pretty good! I had seen at least 10 different deer, and passed up shots at 2 doe. I had only seen one buck, but it was 40 yards out in thick brush, so I never got a shot. Ill be heading out for a couple hours tomorrow after practice. Wish me luck!
