RE: 31-Team Drop Tine Bombers
Mike Hill, I live so far away from Maine when you mention it it sounds like another country to me. I served in the Coast Guard with a guy from Maine and from the way he spoke about it it sounded like a sweet place for an outdoorsman to live.
Well guys I went on a pre-season pig hunt on a friends land that had trail cam pics showing the swine to show up all times of night & day- 3 different packs. As usual when you bring someone elseto your "for sure" kill it doesn't work out.We heard a few when we hunted from 11:00pm to 0100 am, but none made it in to his feeder.
The next morning I hunted from before sun-up until 9:45 and was only visited by 2 fawns and one doe.The fawns would come & go but the doe only made one pass through (it isn't deer season here yet). She was a scrawny lil thing anyways.
During this hunt I realizedI need to place more moleskin above my rest and below my sight along the riser so whenI lay the bow on my lap the arrow doesn't contact the bare riser.
I had these bugs worked out on my Patriot, but since this was my first hunt with the Tribute it was nice to find only one small detail that could cost bigtime while hunting whitetails. Easy enough to fix.

Well guys I got my bow back and it is shooting pisser. It's so nice and quiet now and it fits much better. I took it out for a while this morning and I am hitting pretty good with it. I guess that chick knew what she was doing.
I put up another stand this morning and trimmed it all out I have 4 more to go and 17 days till out opener I'm hoping to be done Monday. I have one more to put up down the street and the other 3 I'm putting up in a piece about 20 miles from here. I already have my opening day stand up so I'm all set with that and where I'll go from there is anyones guess at this point altho the stand I put up today is not too shabby.

I'm heading to my west Texas lease for a 6 day hunt com Saturday morning (really 5 days considering half a day drive there and back-but the wife doesn't see it that way).
I doubt I'll stick a buck unless he is mount worthy since that is my goal for that lease. They don't rut until mid-late December out there so I'm not sure what I'll see this trip out.
One thing is for CERTAIN- some pigs are gonna DIE!!
Camp meat on the barbie washed down with some cold ones, MMM mmm- I can taste it already.
One pig, two pig, three pig.......
Thwack----> squeele! Oh man I'm pumped.
I'll probably take a doe ifn one presents itself towards the end of the week. Don't want to have to keep her on ice the whole time we're there.
Good luck to everyone while I'm gone!
