IBO Speed Rating Search: |

Indent Search: |
A term used to identify the placement of a shorter mark in relation to the other marks in the field. A triple is thrown, the first is 200 yards away, the second is 100 yards away, and the third is 250 yards away. The second mark is called "indented" because the dog must go long, then short, then long again. A difficult concept to teach.

Indirect Pressure Search: |
The dog is given a correction on one command for failing to perform another task. An example would be when a dog fails to take a cast on a blind retrieve such as the angle back cast; the dog drives “over”. The dogs is stopped on the whistle and “nicked” with the e-collar. The dog is being corrected on the sit-whistle for failure to take the cast.

Inline Search: |
Guns are all in a straight line, not the throws of the marks. There can be variations of the inline concept including throwing direction, shift in placement of gun stations, retriever guns, terrain considerations, flyer placement, throwing order as well as factors such as wind and weather. The debate is whether or not this is a test of a dog’s marking ability or their ability to take a line. While seen in tests and/or trials, some feel it is a training concept and should not be used in competition.

Insert Search: |
The adapter which is placed into a shaft to make a nock or arrow point fit the shaft. Outserts are the opposite, they fit around the shaft. Some people believe outserts make an arrow fly less true, but if all other factors are the same, outserts shouldn't effect an arrow's flight much.

Instinct Search: |
