I have goretex and a friend has dry plus.My 15 year old goretex clothes seem more waterproof than his new dry plus clothes.

For the price, dryplus works quite well. I spent all day saturday fishing in the rain and didn't get soaked through the dryplus jacket I was wearing. I'm not saying that it's better than goretex...I do believe that goretex is the best breathable waterproof material out there, but dryplus does get the job done at a substantially lower price point. My dad has a pair of the dryplus waders, and has no complaints about those either. Depending on what you're looking for, frogg toggs also work great for a rain suit. I've also got the Rocky stalker scent control pants, and they work pretty well too. My only complaint with those is that the outside of the pants absorb too much water before it gets to the waterproof layer.

I have both. Cabela's Dry Plus seems very good and I can't say that I've hadencountered any problems while using it. The cost of Dry-Plus is reasonable too. However, Gore-Tex is the standard that all waterproof breathable rain gear is judged against. That is because their quality control is so high. I've used some other lesser known brands and theywere terrible. They were noisy and began leaking with hardly any use.
I think that you'll be happy with either one but stay away from most of the others!

I echo RPL. I have both and the dry plus is OK for the $$ but the Gortex is 100% better.
