The only thing that should be important to the hunters of North America is doing everything that they can to bring ALL hunters together in one unified force. We cannot do that by attacking our hunting brethren because they may like to bait deer, or they like to run bears with hounds or any other of the stupid things that hunters beat up other hunters for. In the last decade the number of hunters DECREASED by more than 1.7 million in the U.S.A. Alone and like me, the majority of the remaining ones are baby boomers, older than dirt and not a whole lot of years left in the field. And while the infighting foolishly continues among our ranks, the animal rights whackos slice away more of our hunting rights and heritage with each passing year.

Instead of expending our time, energy and personal finances to kick a fellow hunter around, each of us should be giving back by working with schools, youth groups and women's organizations in an effort recruit new hunters from wherever we can. This is not meant to be a humorous remark! It is a personal goal for my grandchildren and great grandchildren to be able to experience the thrill and satisfaction of bringing wild game to the family table. I truly feel sorry for hunters that get so caught up in their own personal agendas sired by the fear of loss that they fail to see what is really important to both our hunting heritage and its future. Lord knows that there is plenty of game to go around! Let’s get more people involved to share in the bounty and safeguard our hunting tradition.

As we travel around the continent, we occasionally run into the contrary of mind and spirit. But for the most part, the hunters we meet are able to fathom our predicament and realize that we have a serious task before us. They get it! We can only pity those that do not grasp the reality of our plight and stand up to them for what we know to be right and just. Believe me, if you commit to taking a stand to unabashedly preserve our hunting heritage, along the way you are going to come under assault. But one should always consider the source and remain true to their course. Those that persecute are among a vocal minority and will eventually change. If not, they will alienate themselves from the mainstream of the sport and end up being miserable with those few others like themselves. We believe that anything that grows our sport is a good thing, good for the participants, good for the game and good for the people who make their living from hunting and fishing. The only way for us to preserve our hunting heritage is by standing up for what is right while standing together.
