Daniel Hendricks'  Field Journal
Bio:
Daniel James Hendricks is in his late 50’s and has been hunting small game since the age of six when he took his first gray squirrel with a Red Ryder B-B gun. He has hunted big game with a gun, bow and a camera; including whitetails, black bear, caribou, antelope, mule deer, turkeys, wild hogs and a wide assortment of exotic species since 1952. He picked up a recurve bow in 1973, then moved to a compound in 1987. He began hunting with the crossbow in Ohio during the 1994 whitetail season.

In 1993, Daniel founded North American Bowhunter, Inc. For the next four years, he wrote and produced the North American Bowhunter television show and started the North American Bowhunting Magazine.

In 1994, Daniel founded the United Foundation For Disabled Archers (UFFDA), which is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to promoting bowhunting to hunters with physical disabilities. The organization currently sponsors two all-expense paid, fair-chase whitetail hunts in Minnesota and Wisconsin that serve approximately sixty hunters each year.

In 2001, Daniel founded the Horizontal Bowhunter Magazine, which is the official publication of the American Crossbow Federation. It is also the first International, Quarterly publication dedicated to the promotion and preservation of the crossbow and the crossbow hunting.

Most importantly, Daniel has dedicated his life to the promotion and preservation of all forms of hunting, with all weapons. He firmly believes that all hunters must work together to stem the onslaught of those who would see any facet of our hunting heritage destroyed forever. It makes no difference what you hunt with just as long as you hunt , but WE ALL must respect other hunter’s choices of weapon and hunting method.
